Privacy Policy

The short version. The application collects nothing and sends nothing. Your files are converted on your own device and never uploaded. The only personal data we hold is what is needed to sell you a licence and send it to you.

1. The application

No network access. LocalConvert makes no network requests. The conversion engines are bundled with the application; nothing is uploaded, and no network permission is requested.
No account and no telemetry. There is no sign-up, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising identifiers.
Your files stay on your device. Files you open are read locally, converted locally, and written back to your own disk or a folder you choose. We never receive them.
Metadata is stripped by default. Camera metadata such as EXIF and GPS coordinates is removed from images unless you explicitly enable "Keep camera metadata" in settings.
Local settings and history. Your preferences and a capped list of recent conversions are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted anywhere. You can clear them at any time from the application's settings.
Temporary files are stored in your system temp directory and cleared automatically; you can also clear them on demand.

When you choose to open the purchase page or a support email link, the application hands off to your web browser or mail client. Everything that happens after that is ordinary web browsing, described below.

2. Buying a licence

Payments are handled by Paddle, which acts as merchant of record. Paddle collects the information needed to process your payment, issue a receipt and handle tax, and is the controller of that data. We do not receive or store your card details. See Paddle's privacy policy.

From Paddle we receive the details needed to fulfil your order — typically your email address, an order/transaction reference, and the product purchased. We use it to:

generate and email your licence file;
re-send or re-issue a licence if you ask, and provide support;
keep records of the sale for accounting and tax purposes.

We keep this order information for as long as we are required to for tax and accounting, and for as long as needed to honour the licence and any source offer associated with it. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing.

3. Email

Licence emails are sent through our email provider. If you contact contact@dehdi.com, we hold your message and address for as long as needed to help you.

4. This website

These pages set no cookies and run no analytics scripts.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and page requested) for security and operations, under its own terms.
The checkout on this site is served by Paddle, which sets the cookies it needs to take a payment and prevent fraud.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these, email contact@dehdi.com with enough detail for us to find your order. We will respond within the time the law requires.

Because the application itself collects nothing, deleting your data is mostly about the order record we hold — the application's own settings and history live on your device and can be cleared there, by resetting them in the app or removing the application.
